Hiking in Horicon Marsh
Horicon Marsh is a great place for a day trip to reconnect to the outdoors, and let your children release some pent up energy after a week in school. Horicon Marsh is the product of Wisconsin Glacier, and was once home to the wooly mammoth (which has its own life-sized models around the marsh!). Currently, though the mammoth exists only in statue-form, the marsh is home to many other animals including cranes, frogs, snakes, turtles, blue herons, and other critters you may find wandering through. We also recommend taking a peek at the Education and Visitors Center, and the Explorium downstairs. Both offer plenty of activities for kids and learning opportunities that describe the geological and geographical history of the region. More so, your kids are bound to enjoy smelling a “wooly mammoth”, a mock DNR airboat ride, and the children’s nooks. It’s certainly worth the small entry fee.
Explore the Wisconsin Dells

The Wisconsin Ducks brought troops and supplies across the Dell Creek and Lake Delton throughout World War II. On a Duck, you’ll get to journey through water and across the Sand Bar.
